How to Activate Your License — Luxa Users — User Switching
Where to Find Your License Key
Your license key is available in two places:
- Purchase confirmation email — sent to the address you used at checkout.
- LuxaPress account dashboard — log in at luxapress.com, go to My Account → Licenses.
Each license key is tied to a specific number of site activations (check your plan for the limit). You can manage active sites from the account dashboard at any time.
Activating the License
- In your WordPress admin, go to Luxa Users → Settings → License.
- Click the User Switching tab.
- Paste your license key into the input field.
- Click Activate License.
The page will refresh and show a green License active indicator if activation was successful.
The activation request requires an outbound connection from your server to
luxapress.com. If your server restricts outbound HTTP requests, ask your host to whitelistluxapress.com.
License Status Indicators
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| License active (green) | Everything is working correctly. |
| No active license (red) | No key has been entered, or the key is invalid. |
| License active — expires [date] | Your license is valid but has an expiry date. Renew before it expires to keep receiving updates. |
Two-Condition Requirement
This add-on checks two conditions before enabling its features:
- Luxa Users Pro must be licensed — if Pro’s license lapses, this add-on will stop working even if its own key is valid.
- This add-on must have its own valid license — a Pro license alone is not enough.
If you see the notice “Your license key is valid, but it requires an active Luxa Users Pro license”, it means condition 1 is not met. Reactivate your Pro license first, then reload the page.
Deactivating the License
To move the license to a different site:
- Go to Luxa Users → Settings → License → User Switching.
- Click Deactivate License.
This frees up one activation slot so you can use the key elsewhere. The add-on features will stop working on the current site immediately after deactivation.
Reaching the Activation Limit
If you have used all available activation slots, you will see an error when trying to activate on a new site. To resolve this:
- Log in to your LuxaPress account at luxapress.com.
- Go to My Account → Licenses and find your User Switching license.
- Click Manage Sites and deactivate any sites you no longer use.
- Return to your new site and activate the license again.
Automatic Background Verification
Once activated, the plugin verifies your license status automatically once per day in the background via WP-Cron. You do not need to do anything manually.
If a verification request fails due to a network error or timeout, the plugin keeps the existing license status — it will not lock you out due to a temporary connection issue. The license is only set to invalid when the LuxaPress server explicitly rejects the key (for example, if the license has been cancelled or the key has been deactivated remotely).
