Luxa Booking — Installation & License Setup Guide

Last updated on August 3, 2026 · 4 min read

1. Installing the Free plugin

  1. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for “Luxa Booking”.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

(Alternative: download the ZIP from wordpress.org/plugins/luxa-booking and upload via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.)

No account or license key is needed for the Free plugin, or for the free Stripe Payments add-on — both work immediately after activation.

Requires WordPress 6.5+ and PHP 8.1+.

2. Installing & licensing Pro

2.1 Purchase

Purchase a Pro license at luxapress.com/wordpress-plugins/luxa-booking/pro. You’ll receive a license key by email immediately after checkout.

2.2 Install

Luxa Booking Pro requires the Free plugin to already be installed and active — Pro adds to Free, it doesn’t replace it. Install Free first (§1 above) if you haven’t already.

  1. Download the Pro plugin ZIP from your luxapress.com account page.
  2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload the ZIP, then Activate.

2.3 Activate your license

  1. Go to Luxa Booking → License.
  2. Paste your license key, click Activate License.
  3. Once activated, you’ll see your activation count (e.g. “1 of 5 sites”) and license expiration date on this same screen.

If activation fails, the screen will tell you exactly why:

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
Invalid keyThe key doesn’t match any license on fileDouble-check for extra spaces, or copy it fresh from your account page
License expiredYour license term has endedRenew at luxapress.com/my-account
License inactiveThe license was cancelled/refundedContact support if this seems wrong
Activation limit reachedYou’ve used all activation slots on your planDeactivate an old site from the list shown on this same screen, or upgrade your plan

2.4 Deactivating (moving to a different site)

Go to Luxa Booking → License → Deactivate on this domain before uninstalling if you’re moving the license to another site — this frees up the activation slot immediately, rather than waiting for it to naturally expire from disuse.

3. Installing the official add-ons

Luxa Booking’s three official Pro add-ons — Google Calendar, SMS Reminders, and Zoom Meetings — are not sold or licensed separately. They’re included with your Pro license at no extra cost. There’s no “Unlock” step and no separate license key to enter for any of them.

  1. Make sure Pro is installed and licensed (§2 above).
  2. Download the add-on’s ZIP from your luxapress.com account page (or install directly from WordPress.org if the add-on is listed there — the Stripe Payments add-on is free and doesn’t require Pro at all; the other three do).
  3. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload, then Activate.
  4. That’s it — an active add-on automatically detects your Pro license and turns its features on. If Pro isn’t active yet, the add-on will show an admin notice with a link to upgrade instead of its normal settings screen.

4. Updates

Update the Free plugin, Pro, and any installed add-ons the normal WordPress way — via Plugins, which will show an update notice for each one individually when a new version is available.

5. Uninstalling

  • Free plugin: deactivate via Plugins, then Delete if you want to remove all plugin data too (your services, staff, availability, and booking history — this is permanent).
  • Pro: deactivate your license first (§2.4 above) if you’re moving to another site, then deactivate/delete the plugin as normal. Deleting it removes your license key from this site.
  • Add-ons: deactivate/delete like any other plugin. Deleting an add-on removes its own settings (e.g. Stripe/Twilio/Zoom/Google credentials) from this site — reinstalling it later will ask you to reconnect.

Note if you’re reconnecting Google Calendar on the same site: reinstalling the add-on after deleting it will require reconnecting your Google account from scratch (new OAuth authorization) — this is expected, not a bug, since deleting the add-on removes the stored connection.
