Luxa Kanvia Pro — User Guide
This guide covers everything Luxa Kanvia Pro adds on top of the free Luxa Kanvia plugin: the Dashboard, all nine Pro modules, the Add-ons screen, and general navigation. If you’re looking for board/task basics (creating boards, stages, and tasks), see the free plugin’s own documentation first — Pro doesn’t change any of that, it only adds to it.
1. Getting around
Once Pro is active and licensed, your WordPress admin gets a new Luxa Kanvia section with its own sidebar, separate from the regular WordPress admin menu:
- Dashboard — a cross-board overview (see Section 2).
- Boards — your existing free-plugin board/task workspace, unchanged.
- Calendar, Gantt — new board views, if those modules are active.
- Client Portal, Time Tracking, Custom Fields, Board Permissions — configured where relevant (task modal, board settings).
- Add-ons — browse, install, and license official add-ons (see Section 4).
- Modules — turn individual Pro features on or off (see Section 3).
- Settings → License — activate/renew/manage your Pro license.
Click Collapse Menu at the bottom of the sidebar to shrink it to icons-only if you want more room.
2. Dashboard
The Dashboard is your first stop — a cross-board “at a glance” screen. It’s made of small widgets; if you don’t use a particular module, its widget simply won’t appear.
- License Status — a colored ring shows whether your license is Active, Expired, or Inactive, plus how many of your site activations you’re using.
- At a Glance — quick counts (boards, tasks, installed add-ons, active modules) and a link straight to Pro’s own update, if one is available.
- Activity — Overdue / Due Today / Due This Week task lists, plus your most recently updated tasks across every board.
- My Tasks — tasks assigned to you, across every board.
- Quick Task — create a task without leaving the Dashboard: pick a board, pick a stage, type a title (and optional notes), and save.
- Plugin & Add-on Versions — see at a glance whether Pro or any installed add-on has an update waiting.
The welcome panel at the top can be dismissed with the Dismiss button — it won’t come back once you’ve closed it.
Click the small arrow in a widget’s header to collapse it for the current page view (this doesn’t persist between visits — it’s just a quick way to get a widget out of the way while you work).
3. Modules
Go to Modules to see every bundled Pro feature and switch it on or off. All modules ship active by default except Board Permissions, which ships off (see below for why).
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Time Tracking | Start/stop a timer on any task (one running timer per person, across all your tasks), or log time manually. A “time logged” badge appears on the task card; the full log and a live-ticking timer live inside the task detail view. |
| Custom Fields | Add your own Dropdown, Date, Checkbox, or Number fields — they show up on every task’s detail view. |
| Client Portal | Generate a read-only, shareable link to a board for an external client — no WordPress account needed on their end. |
| Calendar | A month-grid view of every task with a due date, across all boards (or filtered to one). Read-only — clicking a task opens it in its normal board view. |
| Gantt | A timeline-bar view of one board’s tasks; drag a bar to move or resize it and both dates update. |
| AI Assistant | Suggests a checklist for a task from its title and description, using your own OpenAI API key (see FAQ). |
| Dashboard | The Dashboard screen itself (Section 2) — turning this off removes the whole screen, not just one widget. |
| Notifications | A bell icon in the top bar with a dropdown of recent activity: when you’re assigned to a task, or someone comments on a task you’re assigned to. |
| Board Permissions | Per-board roles — Owner, Manager, Member, Viewer — restricting who can see and do what on a board. Off by default because turning it on with no members assigned to a board can lock everyone but administrators out of it; read the module’s own in-page notice before enabling it. |
Toggling a module takes effect immediately — no page reload needed for most of them, though a hard refresh is the safest way to see a newly-enabled feature appear in the sidebar.
4. Add-ons
The Add-ons screen is where you browse, purchase, install, and manage official add-ons (like Cloud Storage — see its own Installation & License Setup Guide).
Each add-on card shows exactly one primary action at a time, depending on its state:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Unlock | Not yet purchased/licensed. |
| Install Now | Licensed, but not installed on this site yet. |
| Activate | Installed, but currently switched off. |
| Active badge, no button (or Settings, if the add-on has its own settings page) | Installed and running. |
| Update available badge + Update | A new version is ready — click Update to install it in place, same as updating any WordPress plugin. |
| License Expired / License Missing | Installed, but the license key on file was rejected or is missing — click through to renew or purchase on luxapress.com. |
| Pro Required | The add-on’s own key is fine, but your Pro license itself isn’t currently active — click through to renew Pro first. |
