Luxa Forms — Installation & License Setup Guide

Recommended installation order: Luxa Forms (free) → Luxa Forms Pro → any add-ons. Add-ons will not activate without Pro already installed and active.

Option A: From your WordPress Dashboard (recommended)

1. Go to Plugins → Add New
2. Search for “Luxa Forms”
3. Click Install Now, then Activate

Option B: Manual upload

1. Download the .zip file from luxapress.com or WordPress.org
2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
3. Choose the downloaded .zip file and click Install Now
4. Click Activate

No configuration is required to start building forms — Luxa Forms works immediately after activation.

Step 1: Purchase and locate your license key

After purchasing Luxa Forms Pro, your license key is emailed to you and also available anytime at luxapress.com/account/licenses.

Step 2: Install the plugin file

1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
2. Upload the luxa-forms-pro.zip file you downloaded from your account page
3. Click Install Now, then Activate

Luxa Forms Pro requires Luxa Forms (free) to already be installed and active — you’ll see an admin notice if it isn’t.

Step 3: Activate your license

1. Go to Luxa Forms → License
2. Paste your license key into the field
3. Click Activate

Once activated, you’ll see a green Active status along with your renewal date and how many of your license’s site activations are currently in use. Pro’s features (the polished admin skin, the Drag & Drop Field Palette, the Add-ons screen, and automatic updates) unlock immediately — no page reload or re-save required.

Managing your license

• Deactivate (on the License screen) frees up that site slot on your license, so you can activate it on a different site instead. Always deactivate on a site before decommissioning it or migrating to a new URL, if you’re near your activation limit.
• License validity is re-checked automatically once a day in the background, and instantly any time you open a Luxa Forms admin screen — an expired or canceled license is reflected without needing to do anything manually.

This applies to Conditional Logic, Multi-step Form, and Gutenberg Block — the process is identical for all three.

The easy way: from the Add-ons screen (recommended)

1. With Luxa Forms Pro installed, active, and licensed, go to Luxa Forms → Add-ons
2. Find the add-on you purchased and click Unlock
3. Enter that add-on’s license key (it’s separate from your Pro license key — check your purchase confirmation email or your account page)
4. Once unlocked, the card’s button changes to Install Now — click it
5. Once installed, click Activate

Everything above happens on that one screen — WordPress installs and activates the plugin for you automatically.

The manual way

1. Download the add-on’s .zip file from your account page
2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the file, then Install Now and Activate
3. A new submenu item for that add-on will appear under Luxa Forms — open it and enter your license key there, exactly as in Step 3 of Part 2

Updating add-ons

Add-ons installed via the Add-ons screen receive updates the same way any other WordPress plugin does — via Dashboard → Updates, or with a one-click Update button directly on the Add-ons screen when a new version is available.

“License Missing” badge, even though I purchased it This means the add-on (or Pro) is installed, but no key has ever been entered on this specific site. Go to that product’s license screen and enter your key.

“License Expired” badge Your key was valid at some point but is no longer — usually because the subscription lapsed or was canceled. Renew at luxapress.com/account/licenses, then click Activate again with the same key; no need to generate a new one.

“Pro Required” badge on an add-on This means the add-on’s own key is fine, but Luxa Forms Pro itself isn’t currently licensed on this site. Fix Pro’s license first — every add-on’s badge will clear automatically once Pro is active again, no separate action needed on the add-on itself.

“Invalid license key” error when activating

• Double-check for extra spaces before/after the key (copy-pasting from an email is the most common cause)
• Confirm you’re using the correct key for the correct product — Pro, Conditional Logic, Multi-step Form, and Gutenberg Block each have their own separate key
• Confirm your subscription is active and not expired at luxapress.com/account/licenses

“Could not reach the license server” Your site’s server couldn’t make an outbound HTTPS request to luxapress.com. This is usually a firewall or hosting restriction — ask your host to allow outbound connections to luxapress.com, then try activating again.

Reached my activation limit Each license includes a fixed number of site activations. Deactivate the license on a site you no longer need it on (via that site’s License screen), or purchase an additional site activation from your account page.
